Work from Home Smartly

The world experienced a historic shift in the 2020 job market due to the coronavirus pandemic.  Whereas working from home used to be a perk for some of us, it’s now become the norm for many of us.  And while 2020 may be considered the year of remote work, it’s really only the beginning as the trend is continuing in 2021.

According to an article by Reuters, a survey conducted by Enterprise Technology Research (ETR) shows that productivity has actually increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  And since remote work is working, the percentage of people around the world that are permanently working from home is expected to double in 2021.

If you find yourself working from home most of the time, it’s important to create an optimal work-from-home environment that is both comfortable and productive, while at the same time reduces clutter and unwanted distractions.  Internet of Things (IOT) devices can help you do this, and Amazon’s Echo line of devices are perfect for the job!  Echo smart devices use Alexa, which is a voice-controlled assistant that helps you with your daily routines by turning words into actions.

For example, the new Echo Dot (4th Gen) lets you adjust your workspace to the perfect temperature, find the best lighting, create a task list, manage your calendar, reorder supplies, listen to music or podcasts and even set timers to remind you switch to a different task or take a break. And if you have an Echo Show 8, part of Amazon’s Echo line, you will basically have Alexa with a screen attached that will allow you to make face-to-face calls.  In fact, there’s so much you can do with Alexa that you may get overwhelmed!

The reality is that the workplace will remain mostly virtual in 2022.  So, if you are like millions of Americans, there’s a good chance that at some point you had to or will have to have figure out how to create a home workspace.
